Looking to fill the following positions:
(1) Part-Time Swing shifts #01141
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Residential Counselor assists in the maintenance order and security in a Pioneer Human Services program or facility. Counsels program participants in a wide range of social and behavioral skills, and maintains effective communications with staff, clients/residents, personnel from other agencies, and visitors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
•Assists in processing program participants and ensures participants whereabouts.
•Assists with maintaining order/control.
•Assists in monitoring program participant’s behaviors. Notifies Supervisor of any disruptions regarding program participants behavior, safety and/or security concerns.
•Advises, counsels program participants; models appropriate behaviors; suggests alternatives to inappropriate behaviors.
•Provides input into case plan as requested; monitors adherence to the plan.
•Assists in inspecting and evaluating safety and security of physical plant; ensures sanitation standards are met.
•Establishes and maintains effective relationships with program participants, staff, sponsors, volunteers, visitors, and personnel from other agencies.
•Collects data and maintains documentation as directed by supervisor.
•Assists in processing visitors, sponsors and guests.
•Transports and/or escorts program participants or groups to facilitate programming, supervision or increased security.
•Attends and participates in mandatory staff training, meetings and retreats; understands that changes in scheduling including days off may sometimes be necessary depending on program needs.
•Serves as a member of the unit team; observes problems and offers suggestions for improvement; supports co-workers; assists any staff as need arises.
•Leads and/ or supervises client/resident recreation activities.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL REQUREMENTS:
•Must wear safety protective equipment as required (i.e. safety glasses, gloves, and foot protection.)
•Must be able to sit or stand continuously for up to 8 hours per day.
•Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, and reach out and above shoulders.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
•High school diploma or equivalent.
•One year experience with the same or similar population being served. Effective oral and written communication skills.
•Basic computer skills.
•Valid Washington State driver’s license.
•Must be able to obtain valid Washington State Food & Beverage Service Worker’s Permit.
•Current TB test Results.
•Must be able to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification.
•Hepatitis B Series Results or Waiver.
•Must clear criminal history and background check.

The successful candidates hired must be willing to work at all 4 locations — Tamarack (Tulalip, WA), Cypress & Cypress In House Services (Lynnwood, WA) and Gibson (Everett, WA) Houses.
